We listen before reacting or making a decision to ensure we have all the relevant information. We offer solutions that are commercial and practical – not just legal. We strive to articulate well the reasons for the solutions that we offer. We think on our feet, but in a considered manner.

We are constantly questioning. We seek to understand all perspectives: the client’s, the adversary’s, the market’s, our colleagues’. We learn eagerly. We are not afraid to try new things.

We are candid and open, but not offensive in communicating this.

Results, not excuses
Outcomes are valued
We do not measure people by the number of hours they have billed. We value outcomes, not ticking off check boxes. Other firms talk about “flexible work practices”, we talk about getting the optimum outcome. For Metis Law, so long as you are delivering, we don’t mind if you need to take a longer lunch break to fit in some exercise (in fact, we encourage it), or if you need to work from home to watch the electrician, we will support you (everyone needs electricity!).
